Content & Needs Analysis

Overview

Across a large university system, ethics and compliance offerings were fragmented across disjointed formats with no central point of discovery. Key training assets suffered from overlapping content, unmapped regulatory gaps, and an absence of structured intake mechanisms for departments requesting tailored instruction. The organization needed an overarching strategy to audit, modernize, and organize campus-wide compliance training.

Design Solution

  • Curricular Audit & Gap Analysis: Conducted a comprehensive front-end evaluation of dozens of existing and planned compliance modules (spanning Title IX, ADA accommodation, Harassment & Discrimination, Clery Act, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) to identify overlaps, clarify learner target groups, and align course modalities.
  • Centralized Information Architecture: Designed a unified Ethics and Compliance Education & Training web hub featuring an interactive “Training Library” where learners can filter courses by audience, delivery method (online vs. in-person), and duration.
  • Multi-Channel Media Strategy: Designed a diversified content ecosystem beyond static modules, scoping out short-form microlearning videos, monthly policy spotlight articles, policy “one-pagers,” and printable visual infographics.
  • Departmental Request Pipeline: Built a structured, Qualtrics-integrated intake workflow allowing colleges and student organizations to schedule customized, face-to-face workshops tailored to their specific risk environments.

Adaptation & Key Takeaways

Pivoting Under Disruption

Finalized in mid-March 2020, the plan encountered immediate institutional shifts due to the remote-work transition and an enterprise-wide learning management system migration.

Modular Resilience

Because the training framework was built around clear competencies, chunked digital assets, and independent learning objectives rather than rigid delivery formats, the analysis and storyboards served as the direct structural foundation for succeeding online asynchronous modules.
